Witness to Two Worlds: A Memoir of Bipolar Disorder, Immigration, and Faith
Editing, Publishing, and Promotion Services for a really lovely client with an important story to tell about mental illness, faith, family, and living between cultures.
I worked closely with Giovanna editing the book then pivoting into publication services with cover design, interior layout, project management, and helping her set up a book launch and learn how to use the back end of KDP (Kindle Direct Publishing). This is pretty standard for the process. I do the technical work and then teach the client as much as I can about using KDP afterward to check sales and order author copies.
Substantive editing, copyediting, and developmental editing over the course of a year.
I mentored the client in writing an author bio and book description that were both compelling and professional, and in her own voice.
Along with the editing and publishing services, I set up a Facebook author page and website for the client and taught her how to use it to build an audience.
Well-received. Well-reviewed. Well-loved. Since publication, Giovanna has continued to engage her Facebook audience regularly, has gotten herself an interview in a local newspaper, a copy of her book is available at a local library, and many, many people online have been engaged in the important discussion about bipolar disorder because of her bravery and openness. She even recorded a reading for Writers & Books YouTube Channel. Clink the champagne glasses above to view her In Good Health profile.
