The Tire Mom: My Highway to Healing
Editing and Publishing Services for a Memoir/Nonfiction book full of important information couched in a cautionary tale of loss and learning.
Marshalling this brave author, myself, graphic designer Brandon Silva (for interior charts and maps), and my go-to copyeditor Raquel Pidal, we put this book out in record time, so Diana could share her important message with the world.
I did a pretty quick edit (timeline was very tight) and just helped the client line some things up, keeping an eye to consistency. After that, I sent it to a copyeditor for final review while I got to the rest of the pre-production process, starting with cover.
I learned some new things on this project about working with very high res files and keeping the proportions exact as I imported and arranged the graphic designer's files to the manuscript.
This project required a lot of management across author, layout and production (me), and graphic designer. There were many graphs, maps, charts, and indices, and new information was coming in up to the last minute. The book's purpose is to save lives, so it had to be accurate and clear.
No stranger to putting herself out there, Diana was able to write a great press release, get herself an interview on a local news station, and set herself up an 18-stop tour all over the country. Her book has excellent ratings, and I am sure it is helping people all over the place. I now check my "angel number" on my tires regularly. Clink the champagne glasses above to view her news spot.
